What the PDF Merge tool does
PDF Merge combines two or more separate PDF files into a single document, keeping every page from every file intact. It's the tool to reach for when you have a scattered set of PDFs β invoices, chapters, scanned forms β that need to travel or be reviewed as one.
How it works
Each uploaded PDF is opened in your browser and its pages are copied, in order, into a new combined document, which is then reassembled and offered as a single download. Because the pages are copied rather than flattened into images, text stays selectable and vector graphics stay sharp β the merge doesn't touch the quality of any page.
How to use it
- Add all the PDF files you want to combine.
- Use the β and β buttons next to each file to set the final page order.
- Remove any file with the β button if you added it by mistake.
- Press Merge PDFs, then download the combined file.
Formats and file size
Only PDF files are accepted as input, and the output is always a single PDF. The merged file's size is roughly the sum of the individual files, since content is copied rather than recompressed β if the result is too large, running it through the PDF Compress tool afterward can help.
Benefits and common use cases
Merging is useful for assembling a multi-chapter report from separate drafts, combining scanned pages into one document, packaging a resume with a cover letter, or collecting several invoices into a single file for an expense claim β all without installing desktop PDF software.
