- For complex areas, remove in a few smaller passes.
- Works best on plain or repeating backgrounds.
What the Smart Element Remover does
Smart Element Remover lets you paint over an unwanted object, person, watermark or bit of text in a photo and blends that area into its surroundings, so the element disappears and the rest of the image stays untouched. It's built for quick touch-ups — a stray passer-by on a beach shot, a logo in the corner, a sign in the background.
How it works
Everything runs locally in your browser: your brush strokes build a selection mask, and pressing Remove samples the pixels surrounding that mask and blends them inward across several passes to approximate what should be there instead. It works best on plain or gently textured backgrounds like sky, sand, walls or grass, where nearby colors are a good stand-in for the removed area; very detailed or busy backgrounds may need a second pass or a smaller selection.
How to use it
- Upload a photo, or add more than one and switch between them using the thumbnail strip.
- Choose Brush to paint over the element, Smart Select to click a similarly colored region, or Rectangle to drag a box.
- Use Eraser to refine the selection, and the brush size slider for finer control.
- Press Remove, check the Before / After comparison, and repeat for any remaining elements.
- Press Download Image once you're happy with the result.
Formats and limitations
JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 10MB are supported, and the result downloads as a PNG. Because removal works by blending nearby pixels rather than generating new detail, it suits background objects better than subjects in front of complex, high-detail scenes.
Common use cases
Great for clearing a stranger out of a travel photo, lifting a watermark or timestamp off an old scan, tidying up a product shot before listing it, or removing a distracting sign, cable or object from an otherwise good picture.
